How to Cook Meat on the Barbecue?

1.Barbecue Preparation:

  • Place the barbecue in a suitable area, sheltered from the wind and away from flammable materials.
  • Ensure that the barbecue stands on a stable and flat surface.
  • Arrange the charcoal or wood under the grill.
  • It may take about half an hour to an hour for the fire to form embers. When the embers have a white layer, it means the barbecue is ready.
  • Use a brush and vegetable oil to grease the grill. This will prevent the meat from sticking.

2.Preparation of the Meat:

  • Allow the meat to come to room temperature before starting to cook.
  • You can marinate the meat by adding your desired spices and sauces. Don’t forget to use basic seasonings like salt and pepper.

3.Cooking the Meat:

  • Place the marinated meat on the grill. Be careful not to let it come into direct contact with the flames.
  • Turn the meat over at regular intervals to ensure even cooking on both sides.
  • The cooking time of the meat will vary depending on the type and thickness of the meat, as well as your preferred level of doneness. Generally, steaks and meatballs cook quickly, while chicken and beef may take a little longer to cook.

4.Checking the Cooked Meat:

  • Check the internal temperature of the meat using a meat thermometer. The appropriate internal temperatures for cooked meat vary by type. For chicken and beef, it is generally 75-80°C, for beef steak it is 60-65°C, and for lamb it is 70-75°C.

5.Serving the Meat:

  • Once you are sure the meat is cooked, remove it from the barbecue and place it on a serving plate.
  • Serve the meat with bread, salad, and sauces to complete your barbecue experience.

Remember, when cooking meat, safety and hygiene are important. Be cautious of the fire and hot coals while lighting the barbecue and cooking the meat. Also, ensure the meat reaches the appropriate cooking temperature by checking its internal temperature, and create a balanced barbecue menu with fresh fruits and vegetables.
